FAQs
Q: What does Eau de Provence smell like?
A: Eau de Provence is a calming, elegant blend of French lavender and smooth cedarwood. It’s both fresh and grounding — like a stroll through lavender fields with a warm breeze through the trees.
Q: Is it more floral or woody?
A: It’s a balanced fragrance. Lavender brings a soft, herbaceous floral note, while cedar adds a warm, woody depth. Together, they create a clean yet sophisticated scent that works beautifully for daily wear.
Q: How do I apply perfume oil?
A: Dab the rollerball gently on pulse points such as wrists, behind the ears, and the base of the throat. The warmth of your skin will help the fragrance evolve throughout the day.
Q: How long does the scent last?
A: Perfume oils tend to last longer than sprays because they’re more concentrated and applied directly to the skin. Expect 4–6 hours of wear, with subtle traces lingering beyond.
Q: Is this perfume oil clean and cruelty-free?
A: Yes! Like all Herb & Root products, Eau de Provence is made in small batches, vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens and phthalates.
Q: What size is the bottle?
A: Eau de Provence Perfume Oil comes in a convenient 10 ml rollerball — perfect for travel, handbags, or layering with your other Herb & Root scents.
Q: Can men wear Eau de Provence?
A: Absolutely! The lavender–cedar pairing is a classic unisex profile, appealing to anyone who loves fresh, herbal, and woody scents.

Eau de Provence Perfume Oil

I tend to think of this as a citrus scent, but it isn't, actually. More of just a "plant" smell that I can't specify. I like it combined with lemon body lotion and powder, when I want to feel fresh and alert. It's a good daytime fragrance.
Nice scent, but roller doesn't work well and scent doesn't stay for long.
Received a sample of Eau de Provence with a different order. At first I thought it smelled like a mature lady's perfume but once I applied it to my skin, I absolutely fell in love with it. The jasmine notes became much more noticeable to me. I find myself reapplying it once or twice per day, which is to be expected with any natural perfume. After using up my sample, I decided to order a roller. My only complaint is that the roller ball does not work at all. I had to remove it in order to get any of the oil out!
At first I was worried it smelled like incense but it really has a wonderful herbal/floral scent that makes me really happy. My husband likes it too!
Eau de Provence surprised me! I tried it as one of the samples I purchased. I normally only like the scent of live lavender flower not the oil or otherwise. It's top note is definitely lavender forward on me but after 30 minutes it dries down to a sweeter, calmer version.. like a distant field of lavender next to wild flowers and haystacks. I've never been to provential France ( or anywhere there) but it may smell just like this and I may one day find out!
